Content not available

The public authority has categorized the inaccessible content on this website. Under each category, there may be a number of topics, which are displayed with headings and an explanatory text. For example, a topic could be missing alternative texts.

Content that is not available is divided into three categories, and concerns function or content that:

  1. does not comply with the web accessibility law.
  2. does not comply with the web accessibility law and falls under the exception of a disproportionate burden, for example, a report or guidance that is very extensive and with a small readership.
  3. are not covered by the web accessibility law, such as subtitling videos that are broadcast live.

Does not comply with the web accessibility law

  • Visual contrast Parts of the website's design do not have sufficient contrast in the text displays.
  • Embedded content The website utilizes a number of embedded services to display videos, podcasts, and interactive applications. Many of these have not been tested for accessibility.

Disproportionately large burden

  • Websites and content The National Museum's website consists of more than 5000 pages and it is an excessively large burden for the museum to review all pages and content. Consequently, there will be instances of inadequate semantic structure and alternative image descriptions throughout the website's content.

Not covered by the law

  • Documents and archival materials Documents posted on the website before September 23, 2018 are not guaranteed accessibility.
  • Archive content Archive content prior to September 23, 2019 is not guaranteed to be accessible.

Initiatives to achieve a higher degree of web accessibility

The public authority has the opportunity to describe what they do to achieve a higher degree of web accessibility on the website.

Description of the public body:

Natmus.dk is being phased out and will be replaced by new websites for all the National Museum's units throughout 2025. In the development of the new websites, accessibility is a focus from the start, ensuring that an upcoming website fully complies with the law and best practices for web accessibility. The transition to the new websites will take place gradually in 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The first websites to be launched in the summer of 2025 are Frilandsmuseet.dk, Krigsmuseet.dk, Kronborg.dk, and Nationalmuseet.dk
